Shivappa, a former state president of the BJP, has demanded that the party’s national leaders expel Yeddyurappa from the party for the latter’s alleged activities to divide the party.

“The central BJP leadership should expel Yeddyurappa for creating fissures in the party. Yeddyurappa is adopting blackmail tactics to armtwist the national leadership to fulfil his personal political ambitions. Such tendencies should be nipped in the bud,” Shivappa said.

The reported plan of Yeddyurappa to float a new party would also not have any impact on the BJP’s prospects in the state, he said.Another BJP leader, Ram Bhat, held Yeddyurappa responsible for the crisis in state BJP unit. “People will teach a lesson to those vying for power. The party should adopt a bold stand against such threats,” he said.
