Seventeen-year-old Samantha Raj’s suicide note is keeping the management of St Anne’s PU College on Millers Road and history lecturer Ramesh on tenterhooks.
Samantha hanged herself to death at her home on Wednesday evening. In her suicide note Samantha accused Ramesh of sexually harassing her, said the Banaswadi police, who have registered a case under Section 306 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the lecturer.
Sister Annet, principal, St Anne’s College, brushed aside the charge against her faculty. “Since December 2009, Samantha has
not been attending her 1st PUC classes. She was once seen at a city mall during college hours by her class teacher. We had informed her parents about her absenteeism.”
Assistant commissioner of police (KR Puram sub division) N Narasimhaiah said: “We are yet to record the statements of Samantha’s parents since they are busy with the funeral.”
College authorities said Samantha came to the college on
Wednesday to pay the fee for her II PUC admission along with her mother Mary. They found out that Samantha had not collected her hall ticket for I PUC examinations and she had forged the
signatures of the principal and lecturers on the mark list she submitted for securing admission into the II PUC.
