Seena’s aide Bande Manja surrenders

The main suspect in the murder case of BML Krishnappa, Manjunath alias Bande Manja, on Friday surrendered in a court in a filmy style. The court later remanded him into judicial custody till October 4. Manja, a close associate of Bettanagere Seena, entered the Frist Additional Sessions Court in Bangalore Rural disguised as advocate to avoid the clutches of police.

Interestingly, a police team headed by Chikkaballapur police inspector was keeping a close watch on the court premises. However, a clean shaven Manja in a black blazer managed to dodge the police and entered the court. The police team got to know about his presence only after he surrendered.

The Nelamanagala police had launched a search for Manja in Krishnappa murder case, but could not succeed in catching him.
Since the court has remanded Manja to judicial custody, the police will have to wait for some days to get his custody in connection with Krishnappa’s murder.

Nelamangala police have decided to take his custody through body warrant. “We will file petition before the court requesting body warrant for Bande Manja for further investigation into the Krishnappa murder case,” a police officer said.

Manja did not surrender himself in connection with the murder case; he surrendered in a case in which Krishnappa was attacked in 2009 at Mylanahalli near Yadal on the Doddaballapur-Nelamangala Road. Police said that Bande Manja was allegedly involved in 15 criminal cases including three murders, one attempt to murder, two illegal arms, seven extortions, and two robberies.

To nab Manja, the Bangalore Rural police had formed many teams. The police deployed teams at the court premises in Tumkur, Bangalore, Nelamangala, Doddaballapura, Devanahalli and Anekal.
