Even as the rebels, led by state BJP chief KS Eshwarappa, are camping in Delhi demanding a change in leadership, chief minister BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday claimed that all was well and there was no dissidence against his leadership in the party.

The dissidents, however,  gained fresh ammo in their battle against Yeddyurappa in the form of Thursday’s order by the Lokayukata special court order directing an inquiry into the allegations against the chief minister.

Eshwarppa, along with former minister Aravind Limbavali and party spokesperson CT Ravi, rushed to Delhi on Thursday morning and joined party national general secretary Ananth Kumar and rural development and panchayat raj minister Jagadish Shettar in the national capital.

According to sources in the BJP, tourism minister Janardhana Reddy also joined the dissidents’ lobbying against the chief minister in the national capital. For the first time, Eshwarappa went public with his dissent.

“Most of the MLAs have expressed displeasure over the functioning of the chief minister and I will communicate the views expressed by the MLAs to party leaders,” he announced in New Delhi.

The rebel BJP MLAs and ministers have complained about lack of development works in their constituencies and the chief minister’s “dictatorial attitude” to the party high command.

Eshwarappa nurses a grouse that Yeddyurappa took “unilateral decisions” without taking party into confidence.

Earlier in the day, Eshwarappa said in Bangalore: “There are some problems in the state. Ministers and MLAs have communicated their problems to me. I am going to Delhi to convey their grievances to the high command on these issues.”

But, Yeddyurappa claimed all was rosy in the party. “There are no dissidents in the party. Eshwarappa is in Delhi to meet our party national leaders and explain the BJP’s strategy to win the by-polls from three assembly seats in the state,” he added.
