Police officer in dock for disregarding court orders, faces strict action
The policeman had illegally dispossessed the rightful owner of a house in Frazer Town.

A lok ayukta report has indicted JC Nagar inspector Tanveer Ahmed for falsely registering a case of trespassing against a resident of Stephens Road in Frazer Town and dispossessing the rightful owner through forcible and illegal means.
The report filed by MD Singh, vigilance director (police) of lok ayukta recommended action in ‘exemplary manner’ against the inspector.
The inspector and his staff had on February 5 falsely registered the case against Umer Abdul Sattar Vahedna, residing in the first floor property on Benson A Cross in Benson Town. They ransacked the house and handed over its possession to Abdul Sattar Munir Vahedna and Rafia Muneet.
The report also said that the inspector acted on the complaints of Umer’s detractors. Umer stated that his family was residing in the house for the past 16 years. He, along with his younger brothers, contributed for the building.
After feud with his brother Anwar Wahedna, sister-in-law Rafia Muneer and nephew Abdul Sattar, Umer filed an original suit before the additional city civil judge, Mayo Hall, and obtained an exparte interim order of injunction on November 23, 2006.
After his brother and others admitted before the court that Umer was in possession of the first floor and assured not to disturb him, he filed another case before the high court, which went in his favour.
Umer did not want to escalate the feud with his family members and withdrew the original suit before the Mayo Hall court. Soon, Anwar Vahedna sent a legal notice to Umer to deliver possession of the premises.
On April 3, 2008 Anwar and his sister along with some anti-social elements, tried to forcibly evict Umer. Umer lodged a complaint before the JC Nagar police. His sister-in-law Rasheeda Anwar and other relatives filed another complaint. On February 5, another complaint was filed by Rasheeda.
Fearing further damage, Umer filed another suit and the order was passed the same day. Due to delay in getting the certified copy, the police did not consider Umer’s plea. The inspector along with his staff came to the premises and the building was demolished the same day. Umer said he lost items, including gold jewellery worth Rs25 lakh.
