The police today closed a case against Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa for allegedly slapping his car driver on the back near BJP office last night.
According to police sources, "a complaint was filed by one Narasimha Murthy, an advocate, charging the chief minister with alleged violation of human rights by slapping his driver yesterday".
"Though it was not a cognisable offence, a complaint was taken and an inquiry conducted, which revealed that there was no merit in the case and the chief minister only showed his hand to the driver to stop the vehicle and did not slap him on the back", the sources told PTI.
The case has been accordingly closed, the sources said.
