Parameshwar slaps notice to Shamanur Shivashankarappa

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, G Parameshwar on Monday issued a notice to senior Congress leader Shamanur Shivashankarappa for not attending the party meeting last month. Parameshwar’s move is expected to evoke strong reaction from the other camp.

The meeting was convened by Parameshwar to discuss the party related issues. Shamanur has been eyeing the KPCC president’s post for some time.

In the notice Parameshwar has taken objection to Shamanur Shivashankarappa’s absence and warned him of action. He has also said in the notice that he did not expect this kind of negligence from a senior leader like him.

Senior Congress leader from Bellary KC Kondaiah has strongly objected to the action against Shamanur. Sources explain that its an indirect message to Union minister for labor and employment Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of opposition in legislative assembly Siddaramaiah to not to cross lines with Parameshwar who belongs to external affairs minister SM Krishna’s camp.

After a failed attempt to capture the KPCC president’s post, this development is seen as a serious set back to Siddaramaiah and Kharge who were supporting Shamamur and always highlighted the failures of Parameshwar to get the party electoral victory in the by-elections held in recent past.
