Deputy chief minister KS Eshwarappa refused to take on former chief minister BS Yedyurappa who had asked Eshwarappa to quit from ministry.
Speaking to reporters Eshwarappa declared that Yedyurappa is the head of the state BJP. “I am like the youngest son in the house. Naturally, the elderly person (Yedyurappa) will have more anger towards me,” he said.
Eshwarappa further maintained that there is no confusion in BJP party. The party has grown by leaps and bounds. “We have enrolled 27 lakh new members to the party in the recent past,” he said.
This was possible only because the common man had identified with the party, otherwise it would not have been possible, he said.
As far as the infighting is concerned, he said that its a routine affair in all the political parties.
Commenting on the MP Ayanur Manjunath’s comments that he needed a clarification for sacking him from the post of BJP spokesperson, Eshwarappa maintained that it was not necessary.
“Did he seek clarification when the appointment was made? Where was he all these days? What did he do after he was made the spokesperson?” Eshwarappa questioned.
He maintained that relief centers working in drought affected areas will be brought under the purview of Citizen Charter Bill (Sakala) to make them more accountable in delivering service to the distressed people, he added.
