The BJP government on Thursday introduced online services for industrialists of the state. Building and plan approvals, issue of licence, submission of combined annual returns and process of inspection of boilers can henceforth be done online.

Inaugurating the services, chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda said his government was committed to creating conducive atmosphere for industrialists. “These services will bring about transparency and avoid corruption,” he said.

The new service will benefit 14,000 registered factories (that employ 13 lakh workers), 3,600 registered boilers and more than 3.5 lakh shops and commercial establishments in the state.
The chief minister lauded labour minister BN Bache Gowda for taking various measures. Once labour department was the least sought portfolio, but the present minister has given it a new lease of life, the chief minister said in his praise.

Confederation of Indian Industry chairperson L Krishnan, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry chairperson JR Bangera, labour department chief secretary GS Narayanaswamy, labour commissioner SR Umashankar and director for industries, boilers, industrial security and health department H Srinivasaiah were present.
