The FIR has been registered regarding a private complaint filed by Alam Pasha in the Lok Ayukta special court. He has alleged that Nirani illegally denotified 20 acres of industrial land in Hoovinayakanahalli, near Devanahalli, and seven acres in Markanakuppe, Dobbspet Industrial Area, in 2010 for personal benefit.

Judge NK Sudhindra Rao, in an earlier hearing, had ordered the Lok Ayukta police to investigate the complaint  under Section 156(3) of the CrPC and directed them to file an investigation report on November 16. The court had directed the Lok Ayukta police superintendent, Bangalore Urban district, to conduct the investigation.

In the FIR registered by the Lok Ayukta police, eight others, including Nirani’s brother HR Nirani, have been named.

The Lok Ayukta police have submitted the chargesheet to the Lok Ayukta court.
