Also The Central Water Commission is scheduled to submit the apex court its report on the water requirement situation in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Speaking with reporters after a meeting of floor leaders of both the houses of the state legislature in Bangalore on Wednesday to discuss the Cauvery issue, Water Resources minister Basavaraj Bommai said the central expert committee had submitted a report on the water situation in both states but Karnataka was not aware of its contents.

“We will make a statement in both the houses of state legislature after the proceedings of the apex court are completed,” Bommai said.

Janata Dal(S) leader MC Nanaiah explained that chief minister CM Jagdish Shettar, minister Bommai and the State’s team of advocates had been asked to come to Delhi by the state advocate Fali S Nariman.

“They told us that they are leaving for New Delhi on Wednesday evening for the Thursday hearing in the Supreme Court. Once the government makes its statement, we will initiate discussion in the house,” he maintained.
