Karnataka Lokayukta raids BBMP corporator’s house
Officials seized documents relating to 5 sites in the city, a house and four acres of land in Kannamangala and Doddaballapura, Rs50-lakh worth gold ornaments.
Lokayukta officials, on Friday, raided the houses of BBMP corporator of Mudalapalya ward (No. 127), N Shantha Kumari, and her relatives — Gopal and Mohan — and confiscated disproportionate assets worth over Rs1.29 crore.
Officials seized documents relating to five sites in the city, a house and four acres of land in Kannamangala and Doddaballapura, Rs50-lakh worth gold ornaments and vehicles.
Additional director general of police HN Satyanarayana Rao said the raids were conducted following a complaint filed by Jayaram of Mallathalli.
He had alleged that Kumari was abusing her official power to amass wealth.
Officials have confiscated property documents and bank accounts.
