The high court on Friday issued bailable warrant to H Siddaiah, commissioner of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on a surety of `25,000 for not appearing in the court despite notices issued to him in a case related to issuing sale deed for the site allotted to A Venkateshaiah in Kengeri.

Venkateshaiah had filed a contempt case against the BBMP challenging that the Palike had not carried out the directions of the high court.

The high court on December 9, 2010, had directed the BBMP to execute a sale deed of  the site allotted to Venkateshaiah at the Kengeri town municipal council, now a part of the BBMP.Since the directions of the high court were not followed, Venkateshaiah filed a contempt case. The high court had issued notices to Siddaiah in the contempt case in its previous hearings. However, neither the commissioner nor his advocate was present in the court on Friday.

The division bench headed by justice VG Sabhahit directed bailable warrant to be issued to Siddaiah on a surety of `25,000.
