The final hearing on the case challenging lok ayukta special court order to probe allegations of land scams against chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has been adjourned to Friday by justice KN Keshavanarayan It may be recalled that Sohan Kumar, Yeddyurappa’s son-in-law, had filed a writ petition challenging the February 26 Lokayukta order to inquire into the allegations against Yeddyurappa and other family members over the land scams row.

Advocate Sirajin Basha then moved the Supreme Court challenging the high court’s order of granting a stay. The Supreme Court bench on April 29 dismissed the special leave petitions and directed that Basha could move the high court for vacating the stay.  In the five applications filed by him, Basha submitted that Sohan Kumar had no locus standi to question the legality or the validity of the governor’s sanction order either on behalf of the chief minister or for him since he was not a public servant.
