The food and civil supplies department will receive documents from them till August 15.

“Most of the aggrieved persons have already uploaded the correct information or have personally gone to the taluk or deputy director’s office and furnished the documents,” said BA Harish Gowda, secretary of the department, on Friday.

Sources said the response from consumers was not encouraging, hinting at large number of illegal gas connections. If consumers miss this date, their connections will remain suspended till inspectors of food and civil supplies department visit their homes for investigation.

Gowda said the department was not setting a timeframe for the inspectors to complete their investigations. An inquiry in a hurry might cause hardships to people, he said. “Third party inspection is on the cards, but not now,” said Gowda.

Details about ration cards or electricity bills and LPG customer number should be furnished at the deputy director’s office in Vikasa Soudha or taluk office in rural areas. If any person has shifted residence after the list was published, they can still produce their electricity bill of the new residence to the department. Officials will then update the database and consumers can get their gas-refill.
