“It’s my police station. Whatever you want, I don’t care. Just get out,” he said.

Police inspector M Nagaraj was not there and sub-inspector HV Venkataramanna was listening to the girl’s parents.

When I tried to ask some questions to her parents, constables told me not to do so until an FIR was filed. They said I was disturbing them. When I refused to leave, Somanna said I had no right to be there.

I called inspector Nagaraj and told him about the situation. He said he was on his way to the station and that he would talk to them, but nothing happened.

Even after the inspector came, I was not allowed to talk to the parents of the girl separately. It seemed the police wanted to close the case without taking proper action.
