After a hard day’s work, you may want to unwind over a couple of drinks at home. But when you find out that your favourite whiskey is out of stock and you are dog tired to head to the nearest watering hole or wine store to pick up the stock, the plan of unwinding over drinks turns bleak. Those who have often found themselves in this situation need not worry any longer as they can get their favourite drink delivered at their doorstep at the click of a button.

Liquor boutique’s in the city are now offering online services in which all one has to do is log on to the wine store’s website and choose the drink they want. It will be delivered home.

KS Lokesh, director, Madhuloka Liquor Boutique, who started the online service a couple of month ago said the concept of buying liquor online is new to Bangalore and is fast catching up, especially among the earning class.

“On an average, we get an order for five to 10 bottles every day. During the weekends, there are orders for 20 to 25 bottles of wines, beer and spirits,” said Lokesh.

The boutique, which has 15 outlets in different parts of the city, does not charge for shipment if the order amount is more than Rs1,000. Otherwise, a sum of Rs30 is charged. That apart, the deliveries will be made within the same day for all orders placed before 6 pm. People can make payment on delivery.

Customers’ delight
Vikas N, who works in an MNC on Sarjapur Road and lives in Koramangala, said he prefers shopping for liquor online rather than buying it in a wine store.

“As my working hours stretch till late in the night, at times it is not possible to pick up liquor from the wine stores or bars, which shut down owing to the deadlines.

“Though liquor is available at many outlets, they cost a bomb and most of the time they are spurious stuff. Here, I get genuine stuff, which is sold at the maximum retail price,” he said.
