The city is gearing up once again to witness the sixth edition of the Bengaluru International Arts Festival (BIAF) 2013, taking place between September 20 and October 6.
The BIAF is set to showcase a potpourri of music, dance, theatre and much more, across eight venues over three weekends.
The festival is the path-breaking initiative of the Artists’ Introspective Movement (Aim) - the city based art movement led by Suma Sudhindra and Veena Murthy Vijay.
Sudhindra and Vijay said that people from diverse platforms like business houses and the government helped in achieving the objective of the festival, which is harmony through art.
Since the BIAF’s inception, artists from more than 25 countries have participated in this festival. The festival was conceived and envisaged keeping in mind the need for an international arts festival in the country. This has been carefully curated wherein different genres of art forms like dance, music, theatre, painting and folk art are presented.
This festival showcases world class performances by legendary artists in different fields, as well by upcoming artists of the next generation. Artists from different parts of India, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and UK are set to take part in the cultural extravaganza this year.
