The loyalist group in BJP has expressed serious concern at the recent crossvoting by 12 party MLAs during the recent legislative council polls. The group headed by MLA CT Ravi has demanded action against those who have crossvoted.
“Taking a lenient view of the development would lead to enormous damage for the party’s fortunes in the future. Allowing a few rotten fruits to stay with healthy fruits would spoil the entire lot. Top leaders of the party should realise this and take stern action against the culprits,” Ravi demanded.
When asked how to find out who all had crossvoted, Ravi said, “Everyone in the party knows who they are. We don’t need a CBI probe to find it out.” However, he refused to divulge names. Ravi expressed concern over the eroding discipline in the BJP and said that some of the leaders had developed an attitude that they could get away with throwing the party’s ideology and principles to winds. “Such tendencies should be curbed without any hesitation,” he said.
He also demanded immediate expansion of the state cabinet to bring in new vigour in the administration, and speed up development works on all fronts.
