Police investigations revealed that the convicted LeT terrorists had planned an attack on the Vidhana Soudha and the IT-BT companies in the Silicon City.

Additional commissioner of police (law and order) T Suneel Kumar said that the police team headed by the then assistant commissioner of police (Frazer Town sub-division) and present deputy commissioner of police (Intelligence) VS D’Souza arrested the terrorists and seized explosives and arms from them while investigating the case of terror attack on Indian Institute of Science (IISc)-Bangalore on December 28, 2005.

The police come to know that Mohammed Razur and his team were behind the attack and arrested him in Nalagonda in Andhra Pradesh on January 1, 2006, when he was coming out from a masjid. Six others were arrested based on his information.
Investigations revealed that there was no connection between them and the IISc attack, but that they had planned terror attacks on Vidhana Soudha and other parts of the city.

The police seized explosives and arms from Kadu Malleshwara, Lakshmipura, Chikkaballapur, Hesaraghatta and other parts of the city. The seized explosives included hand grenades, gelatines, fuse wires and explosive powder.

The police also seized jihadi literature and other materials written by extremists. The police recovered a diary printed in Bangladesh and published in 2003, in which they had written about their plans. This diary helped the police prove their conspiracy regarding terror attacks in India. “After the demolition of Babri Masjid, they decided to wage a war against India and conducted activities leading to civil wars,” Kumar said. Razur began a trust in Chintamani and started to attract his community youths for Jihad.

    Demolition of dargahs
They started to recruit youth for terror activities. They educated them about Jihad. They told the locals not to visit dargahs as idol worship is banned in Islam. Police said that they reportedly decided to demolish dargahs. They thought such an act would lead to civil war in India.

    Team will receive reward
The police team that arrested the LeT terrorists and seized explosive substances will receive a reward from DG and IGP Shankar M Bidari. Bidari announced a `1 lakh cash reward for the investigation team.

The team is headed by the present deputy commissioner of police (intelligence) VS D’Souza, Pratap Singh, H Subbanna, H Siddappa, Abdul Khaiser, AN Swamy and Ramegowda.
