BANGALORE
A plan to link the Aadhaar with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Smart Cards was mooted at the ECHS bi-annual conference (Manthan) held in the city on Thursday.
The plan to link the Aadhaar and ECHS Smart Cards was proposed to multiply the benefits of the Armed Forces Veterans.
During the day-long conference, discussions were held on various issues like medical welfare of ex-servicemen who are yet to be covered under the scheme, and veterans living in remote areas of state where ECHS poly-clinics and private hospitals are non-existent.
Empanelling more private hospitals in the ECHS fold in smaller towns and allotment of land by the civil government for constructing ECHS Poly-clinics were also discussed at the conference.
Air Vice-Marshal PR Sinha, senior officer-in-charge of Administration Training Command, IAF, appreciated the ECHS regional centre, Bangalore, for taking initiatives towards ensuring best medical welfare for veterans of Karnataka.
The webpage of the ECHS regional centre in Bangalore was launched was also launched on the occasion, and the second edition of the Prayaas news magazine of centre on ECHS benefits was released.
