An advocate has registered a private complaint against N Dharam Singh for illegally acquiring his land through the former chief minister’s son. The complainant Kiran Kumar has alleged that Singh had made benami purchase of agricultural tenanted land in 2005 and misused his official powers as the chief minister.

The second accused Maninder Singh, the adopted son of the former chief minister, had invested several crores of rupees to buy agricultural lands in violation of the law. Kumar also accused GM Gangadhara Swamy, assistant commissioner North, H Ramanjaneya, special deputy commissioner and tahsildar Shivakumar of illegally removing high court stay which was in his favour.
