The City Crime Branch (CCB) police foiled a dacoity bid by arresting seven persons and seizing weapons from them on Saturday.

Based on a tip-off, the CCB police arrested Kiran alias Jimmy, 33, Syed Ali, 33, Ashok, 26, Lokesh, 31, Deva, 37, Dattatreya, 27, and Kumar, 38, from Chamarajpet. A car has also been seized from the accused.
Kiran, who has an assault case registered against him in Chamarajpet police station, was planning to loot a hotelier, said the police.
Syed Ali is an accused in four murders, one kidnapping, one attempt to murder and an assault case. Ashok is accused in murder, attempt to murder and assault cases. Similarly, Lokesh was involved in murder and dacoity and Dattatreya in a murder and dacoity case.
11 held for gamblingIn another case, the CCB police raided a house in Padarayanapura and arrested 11 persons on charges of gambling on Saturday.
They seized 15 mobile phones and Rs1.91 lakh in cash with total seized items amounting to Rs3.5 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Ajmad, 34, Arshad, 38, Afzal, 33, Kalim Pasha, 36, Murthy, 38, Yunus, 32, Syed Sahid Ahmad, 38, Yasin, 38, Athiq, 33, Asim Pasha, 24, and Iqbal Khan, 50. The JJ Nagar police have registered a case and are investigating.
