Christmas is that time of the year when it’s also family time. After the customary visit to the church on a Christmas morning, which usually goes on for a long time, the family gets together to bring the Christmas cheer and make the most of being together.
And this is the same for christian families all over the world. It’s considered to be a time of meeting and catching up with one another more than anything else. In fact, if family members are not present, we try and connect with them over the phone.
No matter what the obstacle or the urgency, the family comes together for a hearty meal at home which is kept as authentic as possible, in keeping with the Yuletide spirit. Cooking delicacies, serving homemade wine and just relaxing in familiar surroundings with your near and dear one’s cannot be compared to anything else.
Of course, over the years, there have been a lot of people who’ve opted to celebrate Christmas differently and the whole idea has been romanticized quite a bit, but I feel, at the end of the day, there’s nothing like being home and spending a special day with your special people.
