In the memory of the ultimate symbol of youthful patriotism, over a hundred young men and women gathered on Friday to observe the 82nd martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh. People gathered at Town Hall under the aegis of AIDSO, AIDYO and AIMSS. Shobha, secretary, AIMSS district committee, said if Bhagat Singh were alive today, he would be disappointed with the state of the affairs of the country, what with widespread poverty, farmer suicides, children dying of malnutrition etc.“This was not the India Bhagat Singh had dreamt. But the tides are changing now. Youngsters are waking up from their slumber and thronging the streets as seen in the recent protests against Delhi gang rape. This spirit of fighting against injustice is the responsibility Bhagat Singh has bestowed upon the young India,” she said.@DNA
