The low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka has also affected the city of Bengaluru. A report in Deccan Herald states that on Sunday, people had to bring out their woollens as the temperature dropped and it was raining through the day.

The city had a maximum temperature of 20.9 and 18.7 degree Celsius on Sunday and recorded 5.8mm of rain (till 5:30pm). The report adds that the Indian Meteorological Department has stated that the city recorded 221.2mm rainfall for November (till Nov 14) as against the normal monthly average of 57.2 mm for the month. Most places remained shut and people stayed indoors as a result.

The report adds that the rainfall received in Bengaluru so far in November this year, is the highest in the last ten years. On November 16 too, the city will be cloudy, cold and is likely to receive rainfall for the next 24 hours.
