Bangalore police arrest man who got his pal to kidnap, rape wife
Police said Lokesh, as directed by his friend Devaraj, kidnapped the woman from the city and raped her for three months in Ooty.
A 35-year-old man, who with the help of his friend hatched a plan to kidnap of his first wife to make way for his second marriage, has been arrested along with his accomplice.
The accused has been identified as Devaraj and his friend Lokesh, 35, both are garment factory workers and natives of Arasikere in Hassan district. The duo, arrested on Thursday, has confessed to the offence.
Rajagopalanagar police said that Lokesh, as directed by Devaraj, kidnapped the woman from the city and raped her for three months in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. In her complaint, the woman alleged that Devaraj married another woman and directed his friend Lokesh to kidnap her (the first wife) to be able to live with his second wife, she alleged.
The woman was not able to escape from Ooty as she was not able to converse in the local language. However, she managed to escape and filed the complaint on Wednesday night. Police have registered a case of kidnapping, illegal detention and rape against Devaraj and Lokesh. Further investigation is on.
