Aero India 2011: All roads paved for a smooth ride in Bangalore
The biennial air show and aviation exhibition gets under way at the Yelahanka Air Force station on Wednesday and concludes on Sunday.
Bangaloreans headed to and from the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) have been advised to keep off Bellary Road and take alternative routes instead to reach their destinations, in view of the massive vehicular traffic expected on the thoroughfare because of the Aero India 2011.

The traffic police have declared the entire Bellary Road a tow-away zone and banned all parking on the national highway.Heavy vehicles, including lorries and vestibule buses, have also been banned on the stretch from Hebbal Flyover up to Devanahalli from 6am on Friday to 10am on Sunday. However, BMTC, KSRTC and private buses commuting on the highway on a regular basis have been exempted from the ban.
All visitors are expected to compulsorily carry photo identification and follow traffic guidelines scrupulously. In view of the large number of footfall expected, visitors to the air show have been strongly advised to start much early to reach the venue and expect congestion near the venue due to stringent security checks in place.
