Reflecting upon this tragedy, And Let There Be Light Art Collective is presenting an art show titled ‘26/11’ with six artists, where their work, all related to the theme of the attack, is on display. The show, which opened on Friday, also marks the opening of the gallery.

“The title 26/11 is much more than a coincidence,” said photographer Gireesh GV, whose works are on display at the exhibition. While the gallery was always slated for a November opening, the founders decided on the 26th of the month keeping in mind the relevance of the date to their show’s theme.“26/11 is not just another day but a significant one that stands for a set of problems that are implied with historical as well as the contemporary aspects. This is the theme of this show,” said Gireesh.

The artworks do not form a deliberate recall of the incident. Instead, it functions as a platform to bring divergent art practitioners under a single show.

“My photographs portray the aftermath of the attack. 26/11 has got etched in everyone’s memory and I’ve captured the days after the incident. My photographs will stand as a recollection of 26/11,” said Gireesh.
