Taking a unique step to imbibe green consciousness in his child, N Madhusudhan has set an example for parents as he got his car painted green to instill a love for the environment in his daughter.
Madhusudan, a businessman from Maruthinagar, painted pictures of tigers, elephants, horses and nature on his Ambassador car for his daughter M Ashmithasudhan, a 2nd standard student at Chitrakoota, RPC Layout.

“My daughter is very fond of nature and wanted huge paintings of animals and birds. That is when the idea of getting animals and birds painted on the car came to my mind. I decided to paint my car the colours of nature, which will make my daughter happy as well as make her more conscious about nature when she goes out,” he said.

“My search for good painters in the city took me to the painters who paint the public walls. I decided to approach some of these men to get my car painted. I contacted Basha, and together we selected a few animals and the architecture of ancient temples in Karnataka like Hoysala, Hampi and other places to be painted on the car. With just `5,000 and two days work, I fulfilled my daughter’s desire,” he said.

Madhusudhan is thrilled at the reaction to his idiosyncrasy when he drives the car around the city. “There are instances when people have laughed at me for the designs painted on my car. Some are astonished, while some think it belongs to the forest department. My neighbour said that I should grow up. But I like the reaction from the children whenever I pass by the schools. The children love to see animals on the car,” he said.

When a friend asked Madhusudhan for a lift till his office, “he was extremely embarrassed to sit in my car and gave me a lecture to remove the paintings. I could not take it and asked him to leave the car immediately,” he said. When people spend huge amount on graphic designs on their vehicles, Madhusudhan spent a meagre amount and is spreading the message of nature. He said that he wants to buy a horse and ride it in the city, to pass on the message to love and protect the environment and animals.
