A 13-year-old girl, who was injured in a wall collapse of an under construction building, died last night, police said today.The deceased was identified as Shaila, daughter of a daily wager, police said.The mishap occurred when Shaila who was returning home along with her 11 year-old friend Vignesh. She felt thirsty and had stopped near an under construction commercial complex where a water-filled plastic drum had been kept.Suddenly, a part of the parapet wall of the first floor of the building crumbled on her.Vignesh rushed to her help and both the children were pulled out by an auto driver who took them to hospital.While Shaila succumbed to her injuries at hospital, Vignesh, who suffered minor injuries, is stated to be recovering, police said.A case of death due to negligence has been filed against the building contractor and he has been arrested., police said.
