Last month as well, the company had announced that it will hike the prices of CNG cars due to a rise in input costs.

If you are thinking of buying a car soon then there's some bad news for you. The country's biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has decided to hike the prices of its cars once again and you will have to shell more money from September to buy its cars.

According to the official statement issued by Maruti, the cost burden on the company has increased significantly in the last one year, so some part of this burden will be passed on to the customers in the form of an increase in prices.

However, the company has not informed how much it is going to increase the prices of the cars. 

It may be noted that last month i.e. in July also, the company had announced to increase the prices of CNG cars. Then, it had hiked the prices of Swift and all the CNG variants. In July also, Maruti Suzuki had said that it has increased the prices of CNG cars due to an increase in input cost. The prices of these models were increased by up to Rs 15,000 (Delhi ex-showroom).

Earlier, Maruti Suzuki had increased the prices of many of its cars in April also due to an increase in various input costs. In January, Maruti had hiked prices for some car models citing an increase in input cost. The prices were increased by up to Rs 34,000 depending on the model and range.

Tata Motors also hiked the price of its Nexon EV SUV again this month. This is the third time this year when Tata Motors has increased the price of its electric SUV. This time the price of the top luxurious variants of Tata Nexon Electric Vehicle Tata Nexon EV XZ+ and Nexon EV XZ+ LUX has been hiked by up to Rs 9,000.

In July, Mahindra had raised the prices of all its models. This was the company's third hike this year. Earlier, Mahindra had increased the price of vehicles in January and May 2021. Mahindra Thar has seen an increase of around Rs 1 lakh with some variants.
