In a significant setback to Tata Motors, the Delhi government on Tuesday temporarily suspended subsidy offered on Nexon EV based on complaints about sub-standard range performance.
Tata Nexon EV comes at a price between Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.40 lakh ( ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the most budget electric SUV car that comes packed with a 30.2 kWh battery with a claimed range of up to 312 kilometers in one full charge.
Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot took to Twitter and said, "Delhi govt has decided to suspend subsidy on an EV car model, pending the final report of a Committee, due to complaints by multiple users of sub-standard range performance. We r committed to support EVs, but not at the cost of trust & confidence of citizens in claims by manufacturers.

A showcase notice has also been issued by the Delhi transport department last month based on a complaint by a Nexon EV owner who complains that his car wasn't going 312 kilometers per charge as had been claimed by the car company.
Furthermore, a Nexon EV owner said that he had been following all advice of the dealer but was still not getting the claimed performance.
