CNG-powered cars are gaining popularity in India because of the low running cost, while the high cost of electric vehicles discourages many buyers.

Consumers are being pushed in the direction of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles by higher fuel prices, tougher pollution regulations, and rising operating expenses, and as a result, several automakers are growing their CNG offerings in the nation. Although compressed natural gas (CNG) has been in use elsewhere for some time, it is only recently that it has made its way into India's fuel mix. In actuality, several of the manufacturers are already manufacturing and selling CNG-powered cars, and they are selling out quickly.

There is a rising demand for CNG powered vehicles, so we have listed some of the most awaited CNG vehicles that are expected to launch in the near future.

The new Brezza is one of the most up-to-date Maruti Suzuki vehicles that can soon be supplied with a compressed natural gas (CNG) powertrain, and it is expected to include a 1.5-liter K15C engine capable of producing 87 horsepower and 122 Newton-metres of torque in CNG mode.

Tata is getting ready to release a slew of new compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, including the Altroz CNG, after the success of the Tiago CNG and the Tigor CNG in the nation. It's expected that the 1.2L Revotron CNG engine used in the Tiago CNG and the Tigor will also power the Altroz CNG.

The new C3, the company's second model, is expected to go on sale with a factory fitted CNG powertrain in the near future. The next Citroen C3 CNG is expected to be available with a 1.2L NA three-cylinder engine.

Like the Altroz CNG, Tata Punch CNG is expected to use the same engine that is found in Tata Tigor CNG and Tiago CNG. Tata Punch is one of the best sellers not only for its segment, but for Tata Motors as well, and with CNG, sales are only expected to rise.

Hyundai only offers two CNG vehicles in the nation at this moment, but rumours have it that the South Korean giant is working a version CNG of their populer SUV, the Creta, that will debut in the country sometime in 2023. THyundai will announce the official specs of these motors in advance of their release.

It has been reported that the Skoda Kushaq CNG would be available for purchase in the nation sometime in 2023. This new SUV will compete with the likes of the Creta CNG, Grand Vitara CNG, and Toyota Urban Cruiser CNG, all of which are set to launch in the near future. The new CNG SUV will likely include a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine and cost around Rs 1 lakh more than similarly equipped petrol models.

Two new Kia CNG vehicles, including the Sonet CNG, are slated for a India release. It's expected that the cars will share an engine and have lower operating expenses than their petrol counterparts. When it hits the streets, the Sonet CNG will go head-to-head with other CNG vehicles in India, such as the Maruti Brezza CNG.
