It is a very serious matter. Under the Vienna Convention, it is the responsibility of the British government to ensure that the premises of the Indian High Commission were not attacked. If the High Commission premises have been damaged, the British failed to provide adequate security. There has to be a categorical apology from the British government about this extraordinary incident. If they have allowed a demonstration to take place under the aegis of free speech, then they have to ensure safety and protection of the high commission premises. Not just that, steps have to be taken to ensure that such an act is not repeated again. Attacking a diplomatic mission is a very serious offence.
