Delay disappoints
Apropos ‘60 years & counting, SC prolongs Ayodhya agony’ (DNA, September 24), crores of Ram bhakts were disappointed in the delay in decision. There is a strong speculation by the secularists including the Congress stalwarts that Allahabad HC’s decision would be in favour of Ram Mandir and this may displease the Muslim vote bank in the forthcoming and future elections. It is alleged that the Congress-led government may play a dubious role to delay the decision.

God is for all
This is with reference to ‘Some people more equal than others for Siddhivinayak temple trust, (DNA, September 24) the government is perfectly right in issuing orders to ban special arrangements for important people. All the devotees are equal in a temple. If a VIP desires to have a darshan he should come when he has some time and fulfil his desire. There is no point for the temple trustees to strike a discordant note.

Even God Almighty is not spared for the sake of the convenience and comfort of our politicians. The Siddhivinayak Temple Trust chairman admits as much when he says that “we allot VIP passes only to people who contribute to our funds” (‘Some people more equal than others for Siddhivinayak temple trust’, DNA, September 24). In the pursuit of social service our politicians are always short of time and have the wherewithal to fast-track their approach for God’s darshan. With the darshan thus being reduced to a commercial commodity, how could the government ban the VIP darshans and deny the trust the much-needed funds? Or, is the ban only for public consumption? I trust not.

Back in action
It is good that our government has woken up, though belatedly, to take up the challenge of making the CWG a success (‘C’wealth is back in the game’, DNA, September 25). Let everyone join hands to prove to the world that we can still deliver and make a grand success of the CWG. However, after the Games are over, each and every rupee from the Rs30,000 crore spent should be accounted for and those guilty should be taught a lesson.
