It’s a season of celebration for  Telangana as its turns three on Friday. Telangana was formed after much struggle and sacrifices with over 360 youth losing their lives demanding statehood. The state government has made elaborate preparations to make the Formation Day a great event to showcase the state as the 29th youngest state of the country.  It was the leadership of the Chief Minister Kalvakuntala  Chandrashekhar Rao(KCR) assisted by his son K Tarak Rao(KTR) that saw the formation of a separate state and fulfillment of the aspirations of the people.

 What is interesting is the BJP came out in support for the formation of Telangana when  KCR   launched the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to intensify the push for Telangana movement.The BJP also followed the  promise of ‘one vote two states’ in the subsequent year elections

On Friday, the celebrations will kick-start after the Chief Minister pays floral tributes to the Telangana martyrs at Gun Park in front of the state assembly and hoist the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds.The government  will use the event to highlight its achievements and the Principal  Secretary,Public Relations, Naveen Mittal,who is known for his acumen to get the best out from the media will roll out media publicity that would give the state government much needed mileage. 

Son KTR, who holds two postgraduate degrees and has studied in US,  has excelled as the IT minister. He is being seen as the power center by the political observers, but KTR believes in delivery and the high success rate. The departments that he handles are the examples of it and his cabinet colleagues follow him in letter and spirit. Its called  governance  KTR style.

Governor E S L Narasimhan stated in his address to the joint session of Assembly that, with KTR as the first IT Minister of the state, the IT sector recorded huge exports of Rs 68,258 crore through 1,300 IT units, including 500 global companies, which shows 16 percent growth

KTR began his political career in 2009 when he contested the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Elections from the Sircilla Assembly constituency but could win by only 171 votes.

Between 2009 and 2014, KTR emerged as a statesman and he played an important role in the Telangana movement, urging the State and Central Governments to give in to the demands of the people.

 As a minister  KTR dreamed of making the twin city a global city, KTR was responsible in roping in close to half-a-billion dollars’ worth of investments in one month alone in  May 2015 for Telangana. It was the zeal of KTR that led to more investments by players like Google, Amazon and Uber and promises that are being fulfilled now. The visionary backed, by a good team of bureaucrats, made his mark through hard work and the will to win.

K. T. Rama Rao unveiled the government’s vision for the development of Hyderabad in an event titled "Brand Hyderabad" conducted along the lines of the popular "Town Hall" kind meetings in the US.

 While his father announced welfare schemes for the farmers and weavers and attractive packages for the minority community as AI MYM is their partner, the Telangana Chief Minister earned the goodwill of the people. Pitching for the development of the minorities,  the Telangana government allocated Rs. 1,030 crores in the first state budget for the welfare and development of the minorities.

The state government has decided to set up residential schools exclusively for the minorities at a cost of Rs. 8,000 crores in the state.

 On the other hand, KTR markedly delineated the broad vision for urban governance and globalisation of Hyderabad city. KTR is the chief minister's son, but he is a rising sun in his own way. He is different from other chief minister's sons and believes in delivery.

  The TRS under the leadership of  KTR  did well in the GHMC elections and it was  KTR believes in inclusive leadership exuding confidence that the people of Andhra region would also vote for the TRS seeing the development work of the government.

KTR who grows organic crops in his farmhouse must be aware of the problems a farmer faces. Agriculture needs a proper strategy, not publicity about the schemes that governments want to introduce. Guaranteeing a minimum support price to the farmers could help them lead a decent life.
