When you have Aadhaar linked to social media accounts, whose servers are based outside the country and governed by foreign laws, it makes sense to take precautions. But we have to take a holistic view. The chance of a  totalitarian state controlling information inflow has to be kept in mind.

We have to ensure that our fundamental right to privacy is not denied. But let us not lose sight of the fact that with so much sensitive information on Indians abroad, even a foreign government can influence situations and events in India.
