Mind keeps hankering for love, security and affection from external sources — be it people, things or experiences, thinking that’s where happiness is. It either reminisces about the past or makes grandiose plans for the future. However, confused mind mistakes momentary pleasure for lasting happiness. One strives to please others and runs after relationships, but pays a price in bondage which is a sure shot ticket to sorrow and frustration.

Fact of the matter is that one doesn’t even know what true happiness is and where is it to be found. No matter what one accomplishes, where one ventures, or how much one explores outside, there still remains the vacuum inside, unresolved, gnawing at one’s heart silently. An untrained mind in itself is the biggest hurdle to happiness as it is conditioned by its beliefs and unrealistic expectations to look outwards.
