Ayurveda has many medications to improve immune system

My eight-year-old daughter is having immune thrombocy-topenia since last one year. Overall she is fine, the platelet counts remain around 25,000 to 40,000 for one year. As of now, all modern medicines are off. Only Ayurvedic medicines from Kerala are being used. Please advise some remedy.

Ayurveda, being a holistic life science, has many rasayan tonics and medications that help to improve the body’s immune system. The individual signs and symptoms of the person are treated after understanding the body constitution and finding the root cause of the imbalance. This type of diseases are known to be progressive and can cause problems in adulthood or later. It is vital to take special care right now. It is nice that you are already taking Ayurvedic medicines, we may suggest some recommendations on diet and lifestyle but for complete treatment, complete Ayurvedic diagnosis and check-up for your daughter is adviced. Gulvel (Tinospora cordifolia) is a very good immune booster, it can be taken in the form of Guduchi ghanavati tablets or Gulvel satwa powder with the fresh juice of aloe vera. Alternately, you may buy gulvel sticks, cut a piece of about 2-3 inches, crush is a little with mortar, add four cups of water and boil it to reduce to a half cup, the herbal infusion is given for drinking after straining, sugar may be added as per taste. Juice made from fresh papaya leaves, two tablespoons are maybe given every morning on empty stomach. Rasayan tonics like authentic Ayurvedic Chyavanprash, Sanrose jam could be taken every day.

I underwent an alopecia treatment which went on for 10-12 years. In the last one year, I m following Ayurveda. I underwent panchakarma, virachana, deepanpachan, etc. Also, I regularly take amla churna, avapatikar churna and  kaishor guggul. But suddenly, my hair fall issue has emerged again. Please suggest something as this problem always haunts me.

According to Ayurveda, alopecia has its root causes in the blood and is a pitta dosha disturbance disorder. Thus, when Ayurvedic medications are given for proper blood purification, we have very positive results in such cases. Yours being a long term problem, for ten years, a thorough Ayurvedic check-up is a must. A complete detox and rejuvenative auythentic panchakarma treatment, including Abhyanga massage, with Snehan-medicated ghee intake, complete with virechan and specially medicated oil enemas, with recipes especially for your condition, will be effective. Regular massaging the head with ayurvedic SantulanVillage hair oil and using Sukesh hair wash, a chemical-free, herbal hair-friendly powder for hair bath is the first step to reduce hair fall and dandruff. Ayurveda endorses that the health of hair is directly connected with healthy bones. Therefore one can take two teaspoons dry date(kharik) powder boiled with a cup of milk every day. It is possible to take sweet made from dink (Gum acasia), healthy nuts, ghee, sugar etc. Shatavary, Ayurvedic calcium or ready products like Hairsan are a good solution.

How can one control the creatinine level at five?
—Amit

Creatinine level five is already quite high, however, with proper diet and lifestyle discipline and Ayurvedic medicines, one can reduce this level. Kidneys are directly related to the brain, meaning any mental stress can disturb functions of kidneys. The diuretics and dialysis give temporary relief, yet in the long run, the dose and frequency go on increasing. Ayurveda has medicines which help to improve the functioning of the kidneys. Medicinal herbs like Punarnava, Gokshur, Ananta mul, Palash are very effective. Chandraprabha vati, Punarnavasav and Prashant churna may be started and yet health guidance check-up is recommended. Hip bath with a decoction of herbs is also very effective. Avoiding deep-fried, heavy food and non-vegetarian food especially at night and high-protein beans. Including a light nourishing freshly cooked food in the diet is a must. Medicinal cow urine intake is also a good remedy for the kidneys.
