Vijay Rupani formally invites PM Narendra Modi to attend Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019

PM Modi will inaugurate VGS 2019 on January 18, but will arrive on January 17 to inaugurate the trade show cum exhibition to be held on the sidelines of the main event.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and invited him to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Summit (VGS) to be held from January 18 to 20 next year. Rupani also informed PM Modi on the salient features of the event through a presentation.

PM Modi will inaugurate VGS 2019 on January 18, but will arrive on January 17 to inaugurate the trade show cum exhibition to be held on the sidelines of the main event.

In a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in New Delhi, Chief Minister and senior secretaries of the government of Gujarat briefed Prime Minister about the preparations for upcoming Vibrant Summit. Addressing the media, Rupani said, “We are getting great support from central government and the PMO to make the event the successful one this time alike every year.”

“As many as 12 countries of the world are going to be partner countries in the event. We also expect thirty thousand delegates from more than 100 countries across the globe to participate in this Summit. We want to move forward to develop relationships with African nations, by celebrating Africa Day in Vibrant Summit-2019. This will enable strengthen trade and cultural relations between Indian and African continents at further levels,” he added.

He also gave details about the plans to include the MSME sector in the Summit through the trade show enabling them for sale cum exhibition of their products before the global community.

In the 9th edition of Vibrant Summit for the first time, a shopping festival will be held in Ahmedabad from 15th to 27th January 2019, small and big traders will get a business opportunity in this shopping festival, the CM further added.
Chief Secretary Dr JN. Singh, Chief Principal Secretary to CM K Kailashnathan, Principal Secretary to CM MK Das, Industries Commissioner Mamta Verma and other officials joined CM in the meeting.
