Business bodies in Gujarat will meet central ministers to bring an end to strike by transporters as it is severely affecting industrial production in Gujarat as well as causing a loss of revenue to state and central governments. They have already written to central and state governments on the matter.
Representatives of transporters tried to get support from leading chambers of commerce and business associations in the state on Thursday. A meeting of representatives of Akhil Gujarat Truck Transport Association (AGTTA) and All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) was held with Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
"They had raised their issues with us. Today we have sought time of ministers in Delhi. We have already written to them about the financial loss to the industry and revenue loss to the governments. We want the government to intervene and and find an amicable win-win solution," said Jaimin Vasa, president of GCCI. GCCI delegation will be meet Mansukh Mandaviya, minister of state for Transport, Highways and ports as well as Nitin Gadkari, minister of Transport.
