Team Anna to create 'charcha samuh' in Gujarat

Team Anna core committee members on Monday said that they would form Charcha Samuhs in Gujarat for creating public awareness on the need to have a strong Lokayukta in the state, on the lines of Uttarakhand.The members held meetings in Rajkot, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, and decided to form representative teams at the state, district and taluka levels, for which a search committee is being finalised."It has been decided to create state and regional level youth camps in Gujarat. A committee has also been set up to understand the best practises of economic decentralisation in the state," Gandhi told reporters."Once created, a state-level team will work for agitating for strong, independent and powerful Lokayukta in Gujarat on the lines of Uttarakhand," he said.Appointment of Lokayukta was pending in Gujarat for the last nine years. Gujarat government has challenged the recent appointment of Lokayukta in the Supreme Court.
