Sohrabuddin Sheikh & Tulsiram Prajapati cases investigated, what about Kausarbi?

At a time when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made significant progress in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter cases, it had missed the timely development in the Kausarbi murder case. At least that is what Rubabuddin Sheikh, Sohrab’s brother and complainant in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case, claimed.

CBI sources, however, said that it would open a new chapter with the details of Kausarbi’s death in the Sohrab case following the questioning of suspended IPS officer DG Vanzara in connection with his letter of resignation last week.

Kausarbi, Sohrabuddin’s wife, was kidnapped by Gujarat police along with Sohrab. She was later killed. CBI had mentioned that Kauserbi had been kept confined at the Arham farmhouse at Adalaj in Gandhinagar before being killed.

“I fail to understand why CBI did not investigate the Kausarbi murder case as the case is very much part of the Sohrab fake encounter,” Rubabuddin said. “I have written to the CBI several times demanding speedy investigation of Kausarbi’s murder too.

But, so far, I am not satisfied with their reply,” he said.

It is time CBI declared the Sohrab fake encounter case as a triple-murder theory as all the three deaths of Sohrab, Tulsi and Kausarbi are inter-connected, said an activist, helping Rubabuddin with the legal battle.

Sources said it had already been established that Kausarbi was killed at Arham farmhouse and her body burnt at Illol village of Sabarkantha district. The report on the Illol soil by an international agency had proved that human ash was found at the spot where she was burnt.

The CBI, however, is waiting for a fresh round of probe into a seven-year-old case through a fresh round of questioning of Vanzara.
