The six were produced in front of additional chief metropolitan magistrate court which remanded them in judicial custody.

RJ Sawani, joint commissioner of police (headquarters), had suspended all erring police officials, said JK Bhatt, joint commissioner of police (crime branch) while talking to mediapersons on Thursday.

“The arrested cops are Bela Thakkar, Harsha Malivad, Suresh Thakore, and Jayanti Malivad. Besides lawyers Darshna Pandya and Daksh Parmar have also been nabbed,” he said.

Sources said a retired police officer of Banaskantha might have hand in Sadhvi’s escape. Her call details reveal that she had called up Badal Desai and Dharmendrasinh Raval. Crime branch has formed seven teams to nab him. Police might also interrogate the doctor in the case.  Sadhvi had arrived with the six arrested persons from Banaskantha to Ahmedabad to seek an extension of her bail. Earlier, she was granted 10-day parole on medical ground, which expired on Wednesday.

On being informed by the four cops, the crime branch and Sola police along with commissioner of police AK Singh had rushed to the spot. Police found she was constantly in touch with the six.
