While campaigning for Mansukh Vasava, BJP's candidate for Bharuch Lok Sabha constituency, Ganpat Vasava said that even a child knows who deserves to be a prime minister. "If our Narendrabhai stands up from the chair, you feel like a lion has risen. But if Rahul Gandhi stands up it seems as if a puppy has stood up, who will wage his tail if Pakistan throws a chapati or if China throws a chapati," said Vasava. Meanwhile, CM Vijay Rupani too disapproved of Vasava's remarks. "In the election, in the heated environment, one should show restraint. Words should be used with firmness, but one should not use unsavoury personal language," Rupani told reporters in Rajkot.

Gujarat Congress in charge Rajeev Satav, said, "This is the BJP's style of functioning, but the people have decided that they will stand with Congress."
