AHMEDABAD
Besides inquiring about affordable homes, many visitors also inquired about weekend homes.
The three-day property show by Gujarat Institute of Housing and Estate Developers (Gihed) came to an end on Sunday with nearly 1.5 lakh visitors on just the last day. The total footfall for all the three days is pegged at 3 lakh.
It is learned that the developers were pretty much satisfied with the response. Nearly 12,000 units were sold on the last day. Interestingly, some of the developers felt that majority of the visitors had queries about affordable housing schemes.
Gihed president Rushabh Patel said: “The last day of the show witnessed sale of around 12,000 units. The response was excellent in the first two days. We ensured that there was proper parking and cab facility at the venue for the convenience of visitors. We also increased the number of projects from 180 last year to 270 this year, thus giving the visitors more options.”
Event committee chairman, Dipak Patel, who will succeed Rushabh Patel as Gihed president, said: “People are ready to move to areas like Chandkheda, South Bopal, Motera and Ranip. We had more than 40 projects in the show that offered affordable houses. The response to each of the housing scheme has been good.” He added that due to better connectivity between these areas and the rest of the city, people were ready to invest there.
Interestingly, another developer stated that the budget of the visitors has increased as compared to last year.
Speaking to dna, marketing manager from Pacifica, Bedanta Das said: “As compared to the previous year, people’s budget has increased. Last year, we received more queries for 1 and 2BHK apartments with low budget. However, this time, we received significant number of queries on 3BHK apartments too.”
It seems that besides inquiring about affordable homes, many visitors also inquired about weekend homes.
Ajal Patel, one of the developers participating in the show, said, “We had offered weekend homes near Thol and Nalsarovar. Interestingly, the queries on such weekend homes have increased as compared to last year and we expect around 20-25 conversions in the coming few days.”
