Premier educational institutes will play a bigger role in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit this time. For many years, institutes were putting up stalls at the exhibition showcasing their work and achievements to the visitors, this time will participate in the MSME conclave, which is aimed to help them access international markets.

Institutes will be talking on how they can help MSME's overcome challenges during their journey and provide consultancy to them. Confirming the same, D Thara, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) said, "This time, we have roped number of educational institutes like NID, IIM, IIT, MICA and others as we want them to talk about interventions they can provide in helping MSME's. Institutes can talk about design, management and technological challenges and how to overcome them. There are many issues faced by MSME's but if those can be efficiently planned, it can be very useful to MSME's."

She added, "We are also trying to establish a link between educational institutes and MSME's. If they need any consultancy, they can take help from these institutes even after the conclave."

Speaking about the role of National Institute of Design at the conclave, Pradyumna Vyas, Director, NID said, "I will be talking about design advantage that MSME's can avail and how design can go hand in hand in supporting MSME's. Design plays very critical role. In past few years, industries have benefitted with 200 projects handled by NID."

Professor Anil Gupta, founder, National Innovation Foundation said, "We want to focus on how the ecosystem for technological and management innovations in MSME sector can be improved. We want to stress on large number of start-ups in this sector and what kind of innovations can be supported. My stress will remain on how to promote small enterprises in rural sector where somehow the thrust has been missing. What can be the entreprenurial solution for farm stress."

The inaugural session will feature international, national and state chambers of commerce.
