The petitioner's contention is that CCTVs will help reduce instances of sexual exploitation in schools. The petitioner cited two recent incidents in which children were molested on their school premises. The petition argues that most grant-in aid schools lack CCTV cameras and it leads to exploitation of children.

The high court observed that earlier the Supreme Court had issued several directions in this connection and asked the petitioner to get details of the same till further hearing.

It is to be noted that a complaint was registered with the Shahpur police station in March in which parents of three students had accused a teacher of harassing girls of class 12.

In April, AMC school board had transferred a teacher of Gujarati Shala over molestation charges.
