Ahmedabad-based pharma major Zydus Healthcare has suspended one of its employees for a celebratory post on social media in the aftermath of Pulwama terror attack.

"This is called as real surgical strike," Iqbal Hussain, working as marketing executive in Zydus's respicare division in Srinagar, wrote in response to a February 14 Facebook post that glorified the Pulwama terror attack on CRPF personnel.

"Because of your aforesaid anti-national comments on social network, the company's name and image got tarnished. Management has also started receiving furious reactions and questions like why such anti-national elements exist in the company," Zydus wrote in the notice to Iqbal Hussain, describing his act as a serious and gross act of misconduct.

The company also asked him to explain in writing why he should be continued in employment.

"If no explanation is received within 48 hours, it will be presumed that you have no explanation to offer, and we shall terminate your services immediately," the firm warned.
